The Online exhibition "Hybrid body" is dedicated to the image of a new corporeality and experience of interaction with digital space. Is it right to consider that today each of us has become a cyborg? With the development of technologies, the digital involvement of a user is constantly growing and multiple accounts on social networks create alternative identities expanding bodily capacities. The Internet meets our need for self-identification while the touch screens of smartphones and other devices let us feel the tangible texture of media space, touch the digital.
The next step in aspiration, to humanize the technology in order to understand and examine it, has become the expansion of 3D scanning for modeling, the appearance of humanoid robots and interactive, tactile robotic installations. Does any kind of media extension lead to biological amputation? These are questions this exhibition takes as its theme. The exhibition "Hybrid body" presents institutional and non-institutional artists, designers and creative programmers whose projects analyze the aesthetics of a new digital body.

IAMAHOLOGRAM — mockumentary video about people who have become the holograms for different reasons. Become a hologram —it is a way out of the body, to become completely digital in the physical sense, does not have the body.
The idea of incorporeal being and disembodied consciousness has been keeping the mankind on the trot since ancient times.Eternal dispute between the body and the spirit brought forth the desire of freedom from that mortal material shell. Tsiolkovsky himself dreamed about the ultimate transition of humans from material state to energy existence. He considered so-called "radiant humanity" as the very last stage of the evolution.
Later on, the idea of holograms as intangible state of objects and people was spread. Holographic imagery began
to appear everywhere: the cinema, the advertisement, the arts, etc. Recently, a team of scientists promulgated revolutionary news about the possibility to transfer human into a state
of hologram. The experiment began, people got the opportunity to abandon their bodily existence and become digital by switching into holograms.
To restore the bodies is impossible. Holographic humans still have memory as well as consciousness; they are able to see and hear and speak. Regular people might see holograms without any special tools and can even contact them. This is entirely new technology, which changes the way of human existing. Is it an evolutional step or just another mode of escapism? First people who decided to become a hologram are looking into it.

Homage to Marcel Duchamp in 3D.
Nude bodies interact with the media world and are corroded by the consumerist society’s symbols. Image of a human gets integrated into the digital space; Adam and Eve are sinking in the digital noise.

ｍ／ｍｏｉｒｅ depicts a surrealistic future in which hardware data storage is a symbolic vestige. An explorer of the digital jungle encounters a human-made totem left behind to document technologies of the past. As the totem unfolds, it opens a portal to a corrupted simulacrum of the human body. ｍ／ｍｏｉｒｅ is a piece about our collective effort to archive the human legacy and shape everything around us to our image. As virtual realms are designed after the concrete world that we know, we are forcing our legacy into something we barely know. Databending is used at different steps in the creative process to shape a generic 3d model into a virtual avatar. Just like the marks and scars on our body document our past, the controlled glitch breaks the rigid digital body into a unique vessel of data.

The 'Living Space' series transports the viewer into a sterile alternate universe encapsulated in what looks a hypermodern hotel and spa. Each scene is riddled with familiar devices and products that are used to project contemporary society’s behaviors and trends into a “foreign yet strangely familiar future,” according to the artists. In one room, a vape pen can be spotted on the floor with fumes still rising out from the mouth piece. Mounted on the wall is a giant purple neon ear called ‘The Listener,’ a device that silently listen to every spoken word “not judging or interrupting—just listening and never telling a soul,” write the artists. The suite also features a bed filled with an anti-aging agent, ‘pet plants’ that require a certain amount of affection from their human caretakers in order to maintain a healthy equilibrium, and a special communication device that translates written words in a universal musical code.

Fantasies and unattainable perfections lie behind the closed doors of five digital rooms in Superficial Studio's browser-based virtual world, set to the sounds of Ruven. Each contains a tonic consisting of hopes and dreams. Real bitcoins can be used to purchase the opportunities to be young, wise, happy, powerful and brave—the trick is that each antidote is a one-of-a-kind digital artifact. Belinda Chen and Andrew Kupresanin, creators of the virtual repository of modern aspirations, started the project by reflecting on a cultural tendency of buying the latest “sure-bet” miracle product.

In my works through photography and 3D scanning
I create and interpret the perception of a person, his connection with space and the surrounding world. It is interesting for me to explore the image
of non-place by visualizing the mechanisms of human memory and combining real and digital environment.

What does it mean to be
a young independent curator?
How to realize a curatorial project outside the institution?
Where are the boundaries
of the commercial interests
of the art community?
What are the aims of contemporary art museums today?
Will these museums exist
Is the grant system of museums
aimed solely at internal exchange of resources and commercial benefits?
Сan the institution function
on a horizontal basis?
Do the institutional concepts
of art influence on digital
art and spread on the Internet?
Are memes art or LOL?
This is the minimum of issues that any young curator deals with. As an emerging independent curator and researcher, I state five principles that I follow
in my practice:
i. I choose сonsciousness
and sincerity while working
with art and artists!
ii. I propose to reconsider
the old mechanisms
and art selection!
iii. I'm for the diversity
inside the institutional
iv. I follow the idea of
solidarity and open
artists and curators!
v. I am for the accessibility
of up-to-date information,
software and new
technologies for artists
